Mar. 19th, 2011 02:54 pmOne more for now. This is the first chapter in what's going to be a longer fic. I've put it off for awhile in favor of shorter projects, but I do intend to get back to it eventually.
The Blackest Depths, Chapter One, featuring the Tenth Doctor and Rose Tyler.
The Doctor and Rose find themselves on a planet populated by a very advanced and truly alien underwater culture. Soon it becomes apparent that a dark force lurks beneath the waves that endangers them all.

The Doctor seemed as manic as ever to Rose, running around the console of the TARDIS as he operated the timeship, sending them hurtling through the vortex. She held on for dear life while following his instructions to depress this button here or pull this lever here, just so much, not too much because then they'd be dead and not too little because, well, they'd be dead then too. She felt her face stretching into a mad grin that she thought must mirror the Doctor's. She thought, for the thousandth time (she was certain it must have been at least that much, though she hadn't actually bothered to keep count), how utterly fantastic this life with the Doctor was. How could she ever dream of anything else?
She would be with him forever. She couldn't imagine wanting to live otherwise.( Read more... )
