Sep. 5th, 2011 02:41 pmWhat a day yesterday.
So, it seems that somebody ran into an electric pole a few houses down from us. Knocked the whole thing down, and so everyone on the block lost power. This happened around 3:30 in the afternoon.
The power wasn't back on until about 10:30 at night. Why? Evidently, the electric company didn't think that the few houses that had lost power on our block were that big of a deal. There was a guy from the company, sitting in his truck by the downed pole for about six hours. Just sitting there. Nobody came out to fix it until after 9.
I'm just glad it's started to cool down a bit. It would have been miserable had this happened just a week ago.
