I've been working on art, but my frame of mind is abysmal tonight.  Everything I do looks like low-level crap.

I should maybe go read and call it a night.

That's just what happens sometimes. I usually step away from it for a while then. Sometimes the creative energy just needs a little rest.

I concur; it's easy to burn one's self out if not careful. A day or two of deliberate break from it can work wonders.
