Aug. 14th, 2011 11:46 amThis must be the week for weird dreams. Only this time, I dreamed that I was the character I'm writing over at
justaneckho , except without the memory loss (because I was me). All phasing around the country and slipping past people unseen when I wanted to and such. Bizarre. But kinda fun.
Feeling a bit worried about my grandmother. She had a seizure yesterday when I went out to lunch with the family. Just blanked out for a minute. None of us have seen her do that before. They're going to take her to the doctor this week, they say.
Yeah, not gonna make the deadline at TTU. That's ok. I'll just post it here when it's done. It's probably not romantic enough for TTU anyway-- a bit more story-based, though D & R do have some "moments" that could be taken as shippy, I suppose. It's actually easier for me to write AU stuff when it comes to romance, or after Journey's End, I've found. Weird. I'll try to write the first draft today, if the muse cooperates.
While playing around online last night, I found a page of Joss Whedon quotes. Some good ones on there, like:
"Remember to always be yourself. Unless you suck."
"I write to give myself strength. I write to be the characters that I am not. I write to explore all the things I'm afraid of. "
"Write it. Shoot it. Publish it. Crochet it, sauté it, whatever. MAKE."
"Recognizing power in another does not diminish your own."
I'll stop now or I'll end up transcribing the whole damn thing. But here's a link: http://www.goodreads.com/author/quotes/18015.Joss_Whedon

Date: 2011-08-15 02:30 am (UTC)TTU, from what I've read over the past year or so, can be strangely shipperish but around the edges. Some stay really strict to canon and have them their usually Ten and Rose selves like we see in the show, or they can be more fanfictiony (if that's a word) and mold the characters a bit more. Strange lot we are. :)
Oh, love those quotes form Joss Whedon, the God of Angst and Character Death. I love this one though:
"Recognizing power in another does not diminish your own."
A lesson we should all learn, whether it be in writing or just about life. Great find.

Date: 2011-08-15 03:15 am (UTC)Yep, sometimes I like the implied, subtle shippy stuff. A touch here, a look there, a lingering hug, maybe a stolen kiss. Somehow seems very... them. Speaking so loudly without saying a thing about it. Granted, I also like the more... ah... blatant stuff too. ;)
Goodness, speaking of Joss Whedon... you've talked so much about Dr Horrible's Singalong Blog that I just HAD to go track it down online and watch it. Now I am HOPELESSLY (HORRIBLY!) addicted and will probably know the whole thing by heart in two days and sing it in my sleep.

I'm already singing in my sleep and writing fics. Gods help me! Even doing laundry today I had to sing a little bit. "With my freeze ray I will stop-" :P
Or "There's no happy ending, so they say (not for me anyway)"
I could go on...I should probably stop now...
*puts on soundtrack* :D

Date: 2011-08-15 03:26 am (UTC)Why yes, I AM on my third go-round of it right now. :P
On the bright side, I posted the links to my Facebook, so hopefully I've ensnared some other souls into the Horribleness.
